History

Richard and Jennifer Booth owners and operators of Booth's Dancesport Ballroom have been teaching ballroom dance for more than 30 years. They previously operated two studios: Dance Unlimited in Downtown Denver and Dance Unlimited in Fort Collins, Colorado. As the popularity of partner dancing grew, so did Dance Unlimited. Unable to split their time between the two cities, the Booth's closed the Fort Collins location and moved the Denver school to new larger facilities. They also changed the name from Dance Unlimited to Booth's Dancesport Ballroom.

Booth's Dancesport Ballroom was a labor of love with almost all of the construction being done by Richard, Jennifer, family and friends. The new 2,500 sq. ft. oak, floating floor has seen many a dance shoe since the school opened in 1996. With the interest in ballroom dance continuing to grow through the years, an expansion became necessary in 1999 and 2007 to meet the demand for lessons. In addition to our main ballroom, two smaller ballrooms with floating wood floors, as well as a new updated look greets our guests.

With rigorous training and an expectation for excellence the Booth's have cultivated an excellent team of instructors to teach the many students that have walked through their studio's doors. Instructors train with some of the world's finest dancers, and certify with the U.S.I.S.T.D. the world's oldest and most distinguished teaching society.

Recognizing that the reasons people dance are many and varied, Richard and Jennifer strive to bring a balance of social and competitive dance opportunities to their school. They have classes for people who want to dance at clubs, cruises, weddings and studio parties. But they also design class work and training for students who want to explore competition and showcase dancing. Teachers escort students to competitions throughout the year and several of Booth's students have been U.S. National Amateur champions.

To date Booth's Dancesport Ballroom has taught over 3,000 students to dance for weddings, special occasions, and just for fun. Students have traveled from all over the Denver Metro area, as well as Colorado Springs, Greely, and Cheyenne to train with Richard, Jennifer, and their staff. We look forward to sharing our experience, knowledge, and dance floor with you.
